Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea Daffodil Cosy

I’m not sure about you, but here in the UK, our weather is glum today, and as soon as I saw this tea cosy I wanted to share it to spread some Spring/Summer joy!

The pattern was designed by Queen of the Tea Cosies, Loani Prior, in coordination with Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.  This much loved fund-raising event for the Cancer Council’s work in research, prevention and support, is hosted  by members of the public setting up tea mornings all over Australia to raise funds.

Loani‘s pattern was the official tea cosy pattern in 2012, and she has updated it for 2013. Although the pattern is intended for raising money at the tea mornings, Loani has made it free on Ravelry and her website for everyone to enjoy. If you are in Australia and would like to host or join in with a tea morning, then you will find details here to get involved. As only residents of the country can donate and attend, I have added this link for anyone that would like to contribute to Cancer Research UK.

Loani’s pattern is free and is available here.

We are looking to share some recipes using tea, and are after your contributions! If you have a old family favourite (without a copyright) or a link to a blog with a great recipe, then we would love to know!

  1. What an elegant tea cosy! Apart from the glorious daffodil, I like the subtle ribbed part at the lower part of the tea cosy – very nice indeed!

Now about those recipes with tea: and (how about some nice blueberry tea instead of the hibiscus in this last recipe? I think it would be a wonderful sub!).

    Ciao, Fleur (Fleurtje-Eliza on Ravelry)
